Kern Kiwanis has provided scholarships to one student at every high school in Bakersfield for the last 30 years. As Kiwanian's we value perseverance and want to recognize students who have improved, demonstrating hard work and leadership. More recently, our scholarships have been awarded to students who have surmounted their challenges while displaying quality of character, not the students with the highest GPA. Scholarships may be applied to 4-year universities, community colleges or trade schools.

Recently, Kern Kiwanis Foundation slightly altered its criteria, it is helpful if applicants are Key Club and KIWINS members at the schools where we sponsor Youth Leadership Programs. Kern Kiwanis Foundation believes in supporting the youth who are currently involved in service, Investing in our Youth Leadership clubs means an investment in our communities future.

Kern Kiwanis Club sponsors and mentors Key Clubs/KIWINS clubs at East , Ridgeview, and Miramonte high schools.
